Ana Maria Spagna is the author of nine books including most recently the poetry chapbook, Mile Marker Six. Her work has been recognized by the River Teeth Literary Nonfiction Prize, the Society for Environmental Journalists, the Nautilus Book Awards, and as a four time finalist for the Washington State Book Award. A former backcountry trails worker, Ana Maria now teaches creative writing at Antioch University, Western Colorado University, and other programs.
Sarah Van Arsdale, award-winning author of six books, recently released the poetry collection Taken. She is also the author of three novels, one novella collection, and a book-length poem, The Catamount. A winner of the Peter Taylor Prize for the novel and a finalist in several international and national writing contests, she serves on the board of the Ferro-Grumley Award in LGBTQ Fiction, and has taught creative writing at Antioch University, New York University, Bar-Ilan University, Sarah Lawrence College, Vermont College, and elsewhere.
Derek Sheffield's latest poetry book, Not For Luck, is the winner of the Wheelbarrow Books Poetry Prize. He has also published the poetry collection Through the Second Skin, finalist for the Washington State Book Award, and co-edited Dear America: Letters of Hope, Habitat, Defiance, and Democracy as well as Cascadia: A Field Guide through Art, Ecology, and Poetry (forthcoming). He is the recipient of the James Hearst Poetry Prize and of a special mention in the 2016 Pushcart Anthology; is poetry editor of Terrain.org; and teaches at WVC.
