In Awe of Being Human Book Signing
In Awe of Being Human: A Doctor's Stories from the Edge of Life and Death celebrates the oft-overlooked precious gift that is life. MacGregor's exquisite writing is a celebration of every minute of miraculous life as much as it is an expose on how patients and their families cope with the inevitable end.
In Awe of Being Human is a physician's reflection on living, healing and dying set amidst the challenging world of hospitals and hospices, the medical professionals who work in them, and the ever-present mystery of life and death. Filled with deeply moving tales of the children and adults who have been the author's patients, together with descriptions of the soul-stretching experiences that doctors and other caregivers undergo in seeking to help people whose lives are at stake, the book delivers a tender and powerfully positive message about what it means to be human.
In Awe of Being Human received the Living Now Award for helping readers attain healthier, more fulfilling and productive lives.
“In Awe of Being Human is a book of inspiration and renewal. It is impossible to read these beautiful stories without remembering that, at its core, medicine is not a work of science but an act of love.” – Rachel Remen, MD, author ofKitchen Table Wisdom
