Summary
Siddhartha is a spiritual journey of a young Indian boy called Siddhartha during the time of the Buddha. It is simple, yet powerful and lyrical. His journey takes him on a path to find the meaning in life, through all the relationships and adventures he finds along the way, and ultimately leads him back to where he started. He contemplates his existence in a timeless fashion that makes for a good read in any generation. The book was originally written in 1922 after Hesse spent time in India. It was published in the U.S. in 1951 and became influential during the 1960s. Siddhartha continues to be a must read classic!
