Join A Book for All Seasons in welcoming local author, Lynn Walker, for a book signing for her two books: Midnight Calling: A Memoir of a Drug Smuggler’s Daughter Lynn was the happy-go-lucky daughter of a Miami undercover narcotics agent—until her dad snuck out of their house in the dark of night without a glance back. She never knew what happened to him until he landed in prison for drug smuggling. By then, Lynn was filling the emptiness he’d left in her life with a massive drug habit of her own. A perfect setup for her to latch onto the only connection to her dad that remained once he was paroled from prison—cocaine. After years of abusing coke together, Lynn lost everyone and everything she cared about and was forced to choose—her father or her life. Jaw-dropping and emotionally raw, Midnight Calling: A Memoir of a Drug Smuggler's Daughter is a story about family bonds, addiction and the price of holding on when it's time to let go. Breaking Midnight: A True Story John Walker was a Miami undercover narcotics agent in the 1970s. Ten years later, he was in prison for smuggling 12,000 pounds of marijuana. In prison, he connected with a South American drug lord who was still running the family operation from inside the federal pen. Within months of being paroled, John began smuggling again—this time uncut Colombian cocaine. And this time, he put everything on the line: his freedom, his family and, ultimately, his life. Breaking Midnight: A True Story shines a light on the gritty underbelly of Miami drug trafficking and the danger of leading a double life—as an undercover narc or a smuggler. Written by Lynn Walker based on interviews with her father, John, this is an uncensored, up-close-and-personal account of how a good cop goes bad. Author Bio: Lynn Walker worked for several years with at-risk high school students whose parents were drug addicts and alcoholics. Her work with those resilient teens compelled her to reconnect with her estranged father, and began writing her memoir, Midnight Calling. Her next book, Breaking Midnight, was written based on numerous interviews with her dad about his life as a Miami undercover narc turned smuggler. After a 20+ year career in the environmental field, she began writing full-time in 2022. She lives in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, two teenagers, two cats, and two Lagotto dogs.
