04/27/2019 - 12:00pm to 3:00pm
Mark your calendars for Saturday, April 27: Independent Bookstore Day 2019!   At A Book For All Seasons, we'll celebrate the theme Knowledge Is Power with fabulous authors, surprises, and special book-lover's items only available from your Indie Bookseller.   noon to 1 pm: Wendy J. Fox shares her latest, the grand prize winner of the Santa Fe Writer's Project Literary Award: If The Ice Had Held, a story about second chances, both haunting and luminous, called by reviewers: "an intricate mosaic shimmering with gorgeous prose."    1 to 2 pm: Deborah Cuyle shares The 1910 Wellington Disaster: stories and images from the deadliest avalanche-train disaster in America's history, which occurred on Stevens Pass. With snow falling as much as one foot per hour and rising up to 20 feet deep, the Seattle Express and a fast mail train were stranded under the snowpacked mountains.   2 to 3 pm: Blake Suzelis shares The Gift of Luck: The 10 Stages to Deep and Lasting Change, a new, holistic understanding of change. Join the adventure  bigger than yourself, begin a movement of change within and around you, rewrite the next chapter of your story, and watch the world change for good.   Independent Bookstore Day is a one-day national party that takes place at indie bookstores across the country on the last Saturday in April. Every store is unique and independent, and every party is different.   Independent bookstores are not just stores, we’re community centers and local anchors run by passionate readers. We are entire universes of ideas that contain the possibility of real serendipity. We are lively performance spaces and quiet places where aimless perusal is a day well spent.    In a world of tweets and algorithms and pageless digital downloads, bookstores are not a dying anachronism. We are living, breathing organisms that continue to grow and expand. In fact, there are more of us this year than there were last year. And we are at your service. More details here as the party grows and blossoms...
