Funny & Delightful YA Author Martha Brockenbrough
Funny, insightful, affirming young adult fiction.
Martha Brockenbrough’s Devine Intervention is "frequently hysterical ... devastatingly honest writing that… hits home with the keenness of its insight" (Kirkus Reviews, starred review) and "so much fun... an insightful story about seizing life for all it’s worth while you have the chance." (Publishers Weekly). In Devine Intervention, the world's most inept guardian angel makes the worst possible mistake. “This is a love story,” says Library Media Connection. “Not a romantic love story, but a story of the development of a deep caring relationship … fast-paced, it keeps us reading to the end.”
Martha is also the author Finding Bigfoot: Everything You Need to Know and The Dinosaur Tooth Fairy.
Martha Brockenbrough founded National Grammar Day, wrote game questions for Cranium and Trivial Pursuit, worked as a strap cutter in a golf bag manufacturing company, and taught high school—not necessarily in that order. Her high school students have published in The New York Times, Encarta, and Seattle Post-Intelligencer. She not only loves working with students, she knows that they're capable of writing as well--if not better--than adults. Martha is the author of five books, including children’s, young adult, and adult titles. She lives in Seattle with her family.
Many thanks, Martha, for working with our IRMS Middle School students--you rock!
This just in: co-book-signing with Martha will be urban-farmer-author Amy Pennington with Fresh Pantry, and Pulitzer-winning, NYT-bestselling Bill Dietrich, author of both award-winning natural history and page-turning historical fiction. Click here to learn more.
