The Last Straw: Book 3 in the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series by Jeff Kinney
Summary
The Diary of a Wimpy Kid is back, and as hilarious as ever. In this third book in the series, the Wimpy Kid's Dad decides to take charge. Dad thinks he can toughen up the Wimpy Kid through sports and other "manly" endeavors. Of course, Wimpy Greg easily sidesteps his father's efforts to change him. But then Dad threatens to send Greg to military academy. Now Greg will have to shape up ... or get shipped out.
Easy to read font, fast action, middle-school humor, and cartoon drawings on most pages make this a fun and accessible read for everyone. It's a great cross-over book for graphic novel readers.

Greg, a self-confessed "indoor person," is living out his ultimate summer fantasy: no responsibilities and no rules. But Greg's mom has a different vision for an ideal summer...one packed with outdoor activities and "family togetherness."
Whose vision will win out? Or will a new addition to the Heffley family change everything?
