Events at A Book For All Seasons

We love to support our local authors and our events allow us to give something back to the community as well. We offer book signings, talks, readings, writing workshops, and meals with an author—often accompanied with a slide show.

Shift is Headed Our Way with Jennifer Bradbury!

August 10th, from 1:00-3:00pm is your chance to meet author Jennifer Bradbury and pick up a copy of her exciting new book, Shift.

Jennifer Bradbury

When Chris Collins and Winston Coggans take off on a post-graduation cross-country bike trek, Chris's hopes are high. He's looking forward to seeing the country, dodging a dull summer at a minimum wage job, and having one final adventure with his oldest friend. The journey delivers all those things... and more.

So much more that when Chris returns home without Win at the end of the summer, he's certain their 10 year friendship is all but over. But when an FBI agent begins asking questions, he learns that saying goodbye to a friend like Win is never as simple as riding away. Shift offers an adventure story and a missing person's tale spinning around a single question: What happens when you outgrow your best friend?

How about a sneak preview of Shift?

Praise for Shift:

"This is a great realistic mystery. Jennifer Bradbury tells a totally believable, totally engrossing story. You will keep the pages turning." — Chris Crutcher, Margaret A. Edwards Award winning author of Deadline and Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes

"...keen details about the bike trip, the places, the weather, the food, the camping, and the locals add wonderful texture to this exciting first novel..." — Booklist, starred review, March 1, 2008

Shift

Originally from Owensboro, Kentucky, Jennifer Bradbury is an English Teacher living with her husband and daughter in Burlington, Washington. Avid cyclists, she and her husband took a two-month long bicycling trek from Charleston, South Carolina to Los Angeles, California for their honeymoon, changing more than fifty flat tires along the way. The story for Shift, her first published novel, began to take shape while participating in a Fulbright Teaching Exchange in India. And... Jennifer was also a one-day winner of Jeopardy!
