Dave Bartholomew is the author of On the White, historically-inspired fiction set in the Wenatchee’s White River; Before I Forget, short stories from his life and adventures; and Adages from Ascent, practical ideas on business leadership.
In On the White, young newlyweds load their wagon in Walla Walla and set out for the Cascade Mountains, seeking a new home. Adventuring into the headwaters of Lake Wenatchee, they find great beauty and amazing resources, make fast friends, and experience danger, happiness, and heartbreak. Drawing on numerous stories from European-descent early homesteaders of our rich, unique, and sometimes harsh White River landscape, Bartholomew paints for us this pivotal moment in our local history.
Dave and Nancy Bartholomew live on what is believed to be the oldest homestead in the White River valley, and own Simply Living Farm. Dave is a Wenatchee World columnist, and writes and speaks on sustainability and business leadership.
